How I missed you dear Heroes

Finally!!! Netflix got Heroes working again so I can finish watching Season 4. I was literally freaking out. AND on top of that the Star Trek book I've been wanting to read since January 22nd came out for my KOBO (I already finished reading it) I was ultimately disappointed. :( Speaking of books, I'm SUPER pumped that the George RR Martin series - Game of Thrones is not only going to be a HBO series on TV! BUT he has a new book coming out!! .... in 2012. 8/.

Okay. Not the end of the world, and in fact positive thinking makes me happy for all those things to be happening/have happened.

AND I'm super happy that Scentsy is going so well. I just LOVE it. Alright, I also enjoy making spreadsheets, crunching numbers, color coding my agenda, putting sticky notes in my agenda and saying things like 'oh I'll just write it off', even though I have no idea if I will be able to write something off.

Work is going well, busy as always, going for my first massage on Monday, have two basket parties going out over Easter weekend ....

All this good stuff makes me super nervous. Why you ask? Because ... I don't know how to just be happy, really, truly happy about good things happening. I always expect 'the other shoe' to fall. Maybe my kids will get super sick, or an accident or ... other horrible things. Even though, those are things I can't actually control ... or predict ... it puts a dirty cloud over my sunshine.

It's so hard to cover all the corners, get all the bases ... or whatever that saying is.

Random note : I need to buy more ink.

I've also been majorly slacking in my 101 in 1001 days ... yeesh. Time to revisit that soon. Maybe do a start over, reorganize my goals.

Anyways, that's my blog post for the morning ... my bad ... afternoon.

Update 101 in 1001

I am 4 weeks, 2 days into my 101 in 1001 days.

I watched 2001: A space Odyssey. I would rather have watched a Star Wars marathon. Or paint dry. What the hell?! I will be forever haunted by the weird scary movie soundtrack and my eyes are scarred for life with the pointless footage of the slowest moving space objects EVER. Why show me some guy running in a circle in a space station? oooh fancy he can run upside down. I can't believe this made the 100 movies list. Seriously I can't stop wondering how this made the list. I thought it would be cool. Nope. Nopers. Noperoony. Not a keeper. Not at all. Never. Burn it.

I also watched Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid and was pleasantly surprised. It was quite enjoyable! Even though the ending was lame. It had Paul Newman and Robert Redford in it and I actually liked it! WAY better than 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Date night : I'm counting one of our movie nights as a date night because I'm still breastfeeding and have no inclination to leave my babies at home yet ... so ... there.

Man I really need to make a spreadsheet to keep track of books/movies and other whatnot stuff ... or a calendar yah ... a calendar would work too. Better yet, a daily agenda! YES! But for now ... a notebook.

I'm seriously trying to finish Godfather Part II. I really like watching it, but it's a tad difficult with babies yelling, playing ... watching ... probably not a very good idea.

Turns out I only have 1350$ left owing on my student loan!! BOO YAH! That's pretty awesome! As soon as I can, I'm going to get rid of that sucker, make a few extra payments.

# 74 - Curling in a bonspiel might not happen/probably won't happen right now, but I don't know if there are bonspiels at the beginning of the season. If not, then I will owe charity ... or I might decide it's okay as long as I curl in TWO next year. We'll see how that plays out.

# 86 - No computer for 24 hours ... okay this one got away from me somehow, I kept overlooking it. I'll try and do it twice during the next month, if not, then I'll pay the charity fund. But I might die. So ... (deep breath) I know I can do it. I think I can! I know ... I'll get Godfather III and some other ridiculously long movies to watch.

I'm not doing so awesome on some of these tasks haha.

# 96 - Crewel Lye by Piers Anthony - I so love his books.

# 98 - Bacon/Beef soup - I didn't take a picture and I edited the recipe and used what I had, but totally counts AND it was awesome!
        - Herbed Fan potatoes - Seriously, just potatoes sliced not quite through and microwaved with some oil dressing thing. Easy.
        - I made something else ... but I can't remember .... I'll come back to this.

This update was LESS than spectacular, but ... it is what it is. Besides, I really want to write about how my blender almost died.

Update 101 in 1001

CAKE!
Week 3 completed.

More updates

# 34 Make a fondant cake - I made a cake for Gayle's baby shower. It was interesting. The inside was chocolate/vanilla with cream cheese frosting. And then ... pink and yellow fondant. It was supposed to be a bumblebee but ... it came out as something else lol.

# 78 - Went to the baby shower. I realize it's not the best mommy/me date but ... I'm counting it.

# 93 - The Godfather : February 19th with Devon, Yvonne and Corey. It was actually pretty good. We spent a lot of the time trying to decide if that was or was NOT Al Pacino. It was!

Indiana Jones - Raiders of the lost Ark : February 18th with Corey. I also dislike snakes and thought that the girl actress was annoying haha.

Sound of Music : February 21st with Madison/Amelie/Will. Those kids are so bratty haha. Good ol' classic :)

# 98 - I made some slow cooker potatoes. I don't know what it is with scalloped potatoes, but they hate me. Basically.

There ya go. Awesomeness. Well ... it's getting hard to keep track of things as I do them, especially the weekly ones/daily ones. I'll have to get them into my blog right when I do them.

Task Complete!

Day 14

# 28 - Label all our movies

I actually did this one by accident. It wasn't like I planned it out and had a system. I just basically cut out little pieces of paper that said 'c.linfitt' and taped it on to each dvd case.

It started because I wanted to make my living room more efficient and save myself from constantly pulling my son out of my dvd's and wires and what not. It was a two day project but it worked out quite nicely. Even managed to still do my 1 hour of cleaning and 1 load of laundry a day. I'm hoping eventually to push the laundry to every 2nd day (you know ... for the environment) or even being able to adjust it to twice a week ... something will come up once I get a nice system going.

Proof I labeled my DVDs
It's quite surprising how much cleaning can get done in 1 hour. I never realized it only takes me 10-15 minutes to do dishes ... way less than that sometimes. then to wipe the counters and sweep the floors ... then I even, quite often, have time to clean the bathroom. Last week, I had time to reorganize the bathroom. That did set me back but now I'm even getting to the point that I can plan to do other things/projects in that one hour. Like the basement, the kids rooms, our room, clean the fridge, organize cupboards, keep a running grocery list. It's quite nice. Although I do get 'set back' when my routine is interrupted, even on my sleepiest days I can still muster energy for an hour of cleaning and some laundry. I try to get the kitchen (dishes done and counters cleaned and the floors swept), the porch tidied, a load of laundry in the wash, dried and put away, living room tidied, bathroom tidied and the kids bedrooms tidied. Sometimes it all gets done and more ... and other times not. Sometimes I do exactly 1 hour of cleaning, and other times I keep going (especially project wise)

# 93 - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Okay, you're right. It was easy because Amelie wanted to watch it. Still counts.

#96 - Nightmare by Piers Anthony - pretty much the rest of his books from this book on will be on this list haha. What can I say ... they are the bomb. (that means awesome) and I also read Dragon on a Pedestal by Piers Anthony.

#98 - Made a Spaghetti Casserole. It was alright. It had been intended for Gayle, but after eating it ... I realize it is probably not going to agree with baby Avery. Maybe if I took out the onion and red pepper, but then ... there wouldn't be much taste to it.

It was even good as a left over! I made some for Gayle but
I don't think it's a good idea now. She's eating bland.

I'm already failing some goals :

43. Do yoga at least 2 times per week. For 15 minutes.Harder than I thought it would be to get back into it.

46. Go for a walk. Twice a week.I just kept forgetting ... unless walking to the garbage bin counts.
So I already owe 4$ for each of those tasks. Lame-o. I won't count them as failed unless I either quit them, or complete less than half.

Charity = 6$
Kids = 20$

Seriously. I'm starting a spreadsheet for this.

I'm SO excited to start some spreadsheets for this!!!

Update! 101 in 1001 things

Okay since it's Sunday ... well actually Monday but ... pretend it's Sunday.

Day 8
Week 2

Or ... is it Day 7, Week 1 ....

I'm starting week 2. That's that.

Now, I was looking at my list and realized I didn't do a couple weekly things.Namely :

19. Give Corey a massage once a week (0/143)
22. Cuddle with Corey on the couch, with a blanket/popcorn/pop/iced tea watch a movie/tv once a week (0/143)
43. Do yoga at least 2 times per week. For 15 minutes.
46. Go for a walk. Twice a week.

Now I realize these should be 'fails' but I'm not going to count them. I had a very hectic, abnormal week, so I said, and Corey concurred, that if I catch up by the end of the week then it can still count. That is quite unfortunate that you don't agree. I hope you don't lose any sleep over it. I won't.

Now for goals that I'm working on .... # 22 went very well with #93. We watched Unforgiven.

I saw a guy on the screen and he said something along the lines of 'put yur gun down mister.' and I said 'THAT'S CLINT EASTWOOD' and Corey said 'no.' and it turned out that ... it was NOT Clint Eastwood. That's an old movie (ish) and ... Clint Eastwood was STILL old in there. Just. Sayin'.

Now money wise ...

Kids = 10$
Charity = 0$

Go me!

101 in 1001 days

Update

31. Make a habit of folding one basket of laundry and doing one hour of cleaning before going on the computer.
Okay. When Gayle had her baby I totally did not do this, but it doesn't count as a fail. I also allowed myself some recuperation time and started back today.

33. Finish painting/re-attaching cupboard doors
I got new paintbrushes so now I can get at this whenever I catch up on some sleep.

35. Complete at least 4 scrapbook pages per month. (0/33)
I actually have 3 almost done already, so phew! Haha.

36. Find someone (or do it myself) to make a quilt out of Amélie's and Will's 1st year baby clothes.I just got two boxes of Amelie's clothes back, will go through them and decide which outfits I want to make a blanket out of. Will's box is downstairs I think (well the first one) I'll get Corey to bring it up for me soon.

I think I'll try and update every Sunday or something, but for now ... you get this. I'm still tired.

Task Complete!

I completed 1 task in my 101 in 1001 list! GO ME!! It's only day 01!!! WOOOOO. Pretty happy about that ;)

Alright, all joking aside, completing the list is an important step. I'm thinking I may have wanted to organize it differently. I'm a little worried about forgetting my weekly/monthly tasks. I suppose a good way to remember will be to read my list every day.

Also, I'm still working the kinks out of goals # 100 and # 101 :

100. Put 10$ for every goal completed in a savings account for the kids and 1$ for every failed goal. (Not for everyday not completed just the goal 1$ per goal)
101. Donate 1$ for every goal incomplete/failed to a charity of my choice. This means every day I don't do a weekly task (ie # 43 Yoga twice a week. If I miss once then I put in a 1$) If I choose to discontinue a task I must pay for all the incomplete days involved with that particular task. (ie yoga
286 times = 286$ or 1$ for every day I don't want to do it)

I figure if I'm working to put money IN the kids accounts I'll try harder to complete tasks. Whereas if it's for charity (although I like charity) then I'll try to avoid dumping all my money there. Does that make any logical sense at all??

Task completed : # 1 Make List (Although this list is still getting tweaked wording wise, it is, nonetheless, complete)

101 things to do in 1001 days

I am very excited about this. I got some great ideas from ... well mostly Eileen ;), stole a few from Yvonne, osmosed (this means I read your mind (no it's not an actual word))  a few from Jacquie and Dorothy. I realize it doesn't REALLY cover all the bases on the website (101 in 1001 days), but it does say to pick things that come to mind. These are things I really WANT to get done, so I'll be more likely to do them, right? Plus, the money goes to a great cause (my kids and charity).

I plan on keeping two jars and putting the money in immediately after I finish/complete a task or as soon as it becomes impossible to complete one and it's deemed fail. Then as able, transfer money to where it belongs (Amelie and Will's accounts, or pick a charity, depending on the case)

If anybody sees a task they can help with, or have an idea of how to go about it, I'm absolutely open to ideas! I want to have fun, get things done and feel better. A little organization never hurts and it sure makes a person feel good to have a list that you can scratch things off of. I got this idea of Yvonne (future sis-in-law) thanks Yvonne!!!

Here is a quick link to the list: 101 in 1001 days Corinne's List  and it's also tabbed up at the top of my blog.

Because I have nothing better to do ....

... with my time than to create an exceedingly long list of tasks I will probably fail/not complete.

Wow. I just discovered how to make a bunch of drafts and edit the date that they get posted. Amazing.

I've decided to create a 101 things to do/accomplish in 1001 days. Idea stolen from my future sis-in-law. First thing to do on my list is ... make the list. I will complete this list by January 31st, 2011.

Just discovered how to create a 'page'. Now you can check out the list on the blog. There should be a tab marked '101 things in 1001 days. Right under my title.

I only have 9 things on my list. Suggestions? (sound of crickets) I'll come back to you in the morning.
