Whose idea was that?!

I would post pictures of my preschool class madness but I'm pretty sure that's against the rules.

I'm not sure the wisdom behind this project.

Three classrooms were getting smartboards ... I stole their smartboard boxes. These babies are HUGEMONGOUS!

At first, we tried to make a pirate ship but our imagination was lacking, so we turned one into a castle/house instead. It was pretty awesome.

Then we turned the other one into another house, with a drive-thru window and door you have to crawl through.

These boxes/houses take up half my class ... no joke. The kids even have to huddle together for circle time. It's a little intense.

Then to add to the madness I decided we should do something with the left over boxes I'd collected.

The kids made spaceships, complete with - hello! - fishing poles! Because seriously what spaceship DOESN'T have a fishing pole?! Ours are fully equipped, and they are currently being decorated, finished up ... they recently had speakers and microphones added to them because, why didn't Mme Linfitt think of it, they couldn't communicate without them. Duh.

I'm thinking of keeping the boxes until next year and using them for my next class. I mean seriously ... they are nice.

Chocolate covered everything

Recently, Scentsy came out with a new 'brand' called Velata. I thought it was so dumb. Seriously? Fondue warmer? Really? A whole new brand for it? Dumb. What a dumb idea.

I kept checking the forums/comments - mixed reviews, but then better reviews and then the inevitable. I wanted it too.

I got some and told myself it was just so I can say - what a dumb I idea.

Having a new brand for it is still a less than great idea, but the idea of a fondue warmer that I don't have to remember I turned on is pretty awesome. In fact, they must have made it JUST for me. This is how it works.

1. You take your warmer out of the box.
2. Put the lightbulb in the warmer.
3. Plug it in.
4. Turn it on high.
5. Pour your chocolate 'chips' in.
6. Wait.
7. If you get bored you can take a dipper and, you know, test it out by swirling it.
8. Once it's all melted and warm enough for you, lower the setting to low.
9. Eat.
10. If you somehow managed to not eat it all or you felt unbridled guilt at eating so much chocolate (but hey there was fruit there too probably) then turn it off and wait for it to cool a bit - saran wrap it and toss it in the fridge. (You can also buy a lid for it)
11. You ate it all? Pig. Toss it in your dishwasher (uh ... the warmer top not the entire warmer) or wash it in your sink which takes like 5 seconds you lazy ass.
12. Done. Unless you spilled and wasted chocolate everywhere then you should wash that up.
13. Once it's on low it's not supposed to burn and I haven't had this problem yet - but you know how things are if you use chocolate OTHER than Velata chocolate then yada yada, warranty etc ...

So. Basically I've had chocolate fondue almost every 2nd night. Except when I ran out of chocolate and didn't want to use normal chocolate.

Suggested dippers :

Pretzels
strawberries
raspberries
bananas

Okay that's pretty much all I tried so far but ... I'm going to do bacon soon. It's supposed to DEFINITELY put me on the list for a triple bypass ....

Tupperware Part 2

This may become a problem.

I've recently become obsessed, somewhat, with my Fridgesmart Tupperware containers. I've always had a problem keeping produce fresh but now ... man ... they are SO fresh.

I've also had problems keeping fruits in any good shape, but again, this is a thing of the past - which has enabled my other little obsession of dipping everything in chocolate. That's another post completely.

My Fridgies (aka Fridgesmart Tupperware containers) are almost always full. If they aren't full or holding something, it's because they are waiting to be washed and refilled. They've had cherries, strawberries, lettuce, watermelon, cantalope etc ...

I had also gotten some cereal storers, which suddenly encouraged us to buy more cereal? Kind of annoying because instead of one or two kinds we have 5 kinds and not enough containers.

I'm less impressed by my cheese shredder. It shreds well, but the container doesn't fit properly and I keep cutting myself. I also have more orange peelers than I know what to do with.

Another favorite is my microwave dishes. True I'm eating mutated food that will ruin my life forever, but MAN it's super awesome not to have spillage and splatter in the microwave!!!

I had bought some cups from Tupperware and they've pretty much just taken over as cups for everyone.

A - you can use them with a lid and a straw
B - you can just use them normally
C - they hold a lot of drink
D - easy to clean.

They are pretty much brilliant and come in nice colors.

I have a few other things that hold stuff in them and pour stuff out of it and it's all great.

But .... this could be a problem because once you start organizing your shit in the cupboards ... you just have to organize all of it or it looks messy.

This might become an expensive problem. I should take up drinking - I think it's cheaper ... and I won't care if my cupboards are disorganized - plus another way to use my Tupperware cups.
