Tupperware Part 2

This may become a problem.

I've recently become obsessed, somewhat, with my Fridgesmart Tupperware containers. I've always had a problem keeping produce fresh but now ... man ... they are SO fresh.

I've also had problems keeping fruits in any good shape, but again, this is a thing of the past - which has enabled my other little obsession of dipping everything in chocolate. That's another post completely.

My Fridgies (aka Fridgesmart Tupperware containers) are almost always full. If they aren't full or holding something, it's because they are waiting to be washed and refilled. They've had cherries, strawberries, lettuce, watermelon, cantalope etc ...

I had also gotten some cereal storers, which suddenly encouraged us to buy more cereal? Kind of annoying because instead of one or two kinds we have 5 kinds and not enough containers.

I'm less impressed by my cheese shredder. It shreds well, but the container doesn't fit properly and I keep cutting myself. I also have more orange peelers than I know what to do with.

Another favorite is my microwave dishes. True I'm eating mutated food that will ruin my life forever, but MAN it's super awesome not to have spillage and splatter in the microwave!!!

I had bought some cups from Tupperware and they've pretty much just taken over as cups for everyone.

A - you can use them with a lid and a straw
B - you can just use them normally
C - they hold a lot of drink
D - easy to clean.

They are pretty much brilliant and come in nice colors.

I have a few other things that hold stuff in them and pour stuff out of it and it's all great.

But .... this could be a problem because once you start organizing your shit in the cupboards ... you just have to organize all of it or it looks messy.

This might become an expensive problem. I should take up drinking - I think it's cheaper ... and I won't care if my cupboards are disorganized - plus another way to use my Tupperware cups.

Amélie's Antics - May 9th, 2012

The scene : Minor Emergency waiting room, Amélie is dancing around as usual. She watches people going into the doctor's room ... sort of. Suddenly she stops and gapes.

Amélie : Mommy! What happened to that girl?!

I turn to see an old man leaving the waiting room. I am only puzzled half a second.

Me : Nothin-.
Amélie : She turned into a BOY!!!! (She's shocked)

I'm tempted to tell her that indeed that's what happens but ... instead ...

Me : No (laughing) he just came out-.
Amélie : MOM!!! THat girl is a BOY NOW!!!
Me : No, Amélie, he was just in there before that's all. Now he's done.
Amélie (pondering this thought) : Oh Phew. That's awkward.
Me : Indeed.

Later, same place, still waiting ...

Amélie : Is that girl hurt?
Me : Yes, she hurt her arm.
Amélie : Are they going to cut it off (very worried)
Me : No.
Amélie : They're going to CUT IT OFF!!
Me : NO.
Amélie : Oh ... phew. That's awkward.
Me : Indeed.

In the doctor's office ...

Amélie : I want to see her 'puter.
Me : She's just working.
Amélie : No the other side.

The doctor shows her the other side. Teddy Bear's ... skeletons ... Oi.
Amélie is predictably horrified.

Amélie : What happened to those bears?!
Me : That's their skeletons ...

You can imagine the discussion we had on the way home.

Tupperware

Tupperware

This is the massive amount of Tupperware that I got from my Tupperware party. I don't remember what my cost was ... but it was under 100$. Thank you guys SO SO MUCH!!! I bought the 4 pc bowl set for 36,50$ because - hello! Awesome deal!!! Then we also got a new grater in there because ours ... in very poor shape. We also bought some of those fridgesmart things because Melissa E had cheese in hers and SWEARS it lasts a SUPER long time. AND we are constantly throwing out produce we don't use quick enough - so now they're being put to the test.

My sister and cousin also booked parties off of her and I already have my 'next to buy' list. Mainly some freezer containers and some plain old leftover holders - but mostly freezer containers. Who doesn't love Tupperware!??!

Makeup

I've always been a little behind everyone. Almost like I need to see how they do it before I attempt it.

I've recently begun to put makeup on. Before recently ... I just didn't care ... but maybe because I'm aging (still young) I'm getting into the whole .... must hide baggy eyes and wrinkles phase. It also helped that when I started it was for my sister's wedding so I purchased just what I needed. I am still quite poor at putting on makeup but I'm getting better every time. My makeup consists of foundation, eye shadows and lipgloss. I recently added 5 more shadows, an eye liner and have been contemplating a primer and facial cleanser and moisturizer. I get all my stuff from my sister-in-law who sells Mary Kay.

I realize that many people have the facial cleanser and moisturizer first but I've NEVER had a problem with my face. It's been fine ... which leads me to ponder the idea of having a cleanser and moisturizer. I'm a little worried it'll clog pores, chap skin ... I don't know. We'll see. I also need something because with makeup and the removal of makeup my skin is feeling a little ... dry?

Anyways ... if you see me around with weird looking makeup ... just realize I'm still learning. It's also adding time to my morning routine which kind of sucks but I feel pretty good once it's on so I think it's worth it.

Next step : Getting rid of these ANNOYING white strands and getting the dandruff under control. I've been using Arbonne and it seemed okay for about 3 1/2 months, then I needed to change because it stopped working. I'm not sure if it's because the weather and my own body changed in those months but I switched to Head and Shoulders and it's keeping it .... at bay ... but it means I have to wash my hair EVERY DAY ... which makes it hard to do anything with because it's so ... smooth and shiny? Anyways ... it sucks.

Tips? .

Was gonna ...

... do a lot of things the past couple months.

I WAS blogging, honest, but I didn't post them. They weren't crazy or totally wacko or ranty ... I just was waiting and now they don't really need to be there so it just looks like I've neglected my blog for over two months. AWKWARD ....

Also ... I've been debating starting a new blog and not giving it out. I think I've decided to just continue this one and not post my blog to facebook, which means if you are reading this it is because you sought it out or you accidently googled something and got stuck here.

I'm going to post whatever I want whenever I want and that's just the way it'll be. I will, however, try to keep things about mostly me, myself and probably my husband and kids and friends that I know don't mind me blogging a hilarious story about them.

Another thing that I've randomly decided is to just be excited when good things happen because ... HOLY HANNAH do they ever slip away fast :(. I usually have something amazingly great happen (!) and then I just stay quiet and wait for the other shoe to drop. It makes it very sad around our place sometimes - all that caution and tiptoeing ... Hell ... I should just ENJOY when something amazing happens ... like my car getting fixed!!! AMAZING!!!!

Here is a list of great things that have happened lately :

1. Car is getting fixed for a fraction of the price we got quoted.
2. Got a new truck (this actually isn't a great thing but Corey would be all annoyed if I didn't put it here)
3. I'm working FULL-TIME as a preschool teacher - there is so much irony here really (I think it's irony ... it might be another word but I'll have to google it another day)
4. My friends/neighbors are all having babies
5. I'm going to look so HAWT in my bridesmaid dress.
6. I'm having a good time with Scentsy.
7. Amélie danced in front of people other than me and didn't pull a tantrum (this remains to be confirmed on recital day since she missed rehearsal because of being a sicky)
8. I just got EXTRA prep time hours (okay 30 minutes a day)
9. My kids are so freakin' silly that even though they don't look like me they sure have my sense of humour - poor society.
10. I'm in a play - not sure it's a great thing but I'm enjoying it. :)

Favorite things ...

William :

1 - The way he counts un, deux, un, deux, six, quatre, un, deux (and looks at you to make sure you're paying attention)
2 - Instead of Thank You he says Bye-bye or Goodbye and waves and leaves the room with whatever he's gotten.
3 - When he's excited to get something he does this skipping thing.
4 - He only repeats what he wants to repeat.
5 - While rocking him to sleep he repeatedly points to my boob and says 'THERE IT IS!' like it's some long lost treasure.
6 - When someone is leaving he will happily wave bye bye and say so until they move towards the door then he hangs his head and fake cries making you feel like the WORST person ever. (Ask mom, she'll tell you all about it)
7 - Loves to dictate with his jibber jabber while pointing his finger.
8 - Will snuggle right up to us while sleeping in our bed. (I mean literally so there is no space)
9 - Loves to see Avery arriving and leaving (will rock her carseat as if to rock her to sleep)
10 - Is a mama's boy but is SO rough and tough.

Amélie :

1 - She has three personalities : Debba, Amélie and Debbie. They come out depending on if one of them has been sent to her room. It's like having triplets or something.
2 - When she is SUPER excited or happy she does this cute little clapping thing.
3 - Crackers are only for mushroom soup. That's it.
4 - She thinks that dance is super fun until there are other people watching her, then she wants to do her own routine and not a choreographed one and only if Matante Maddie dances with her.
5 - She starts ALL her stories with 'Once upon a dream ...' and her stories are very animated and detailed and end with '...they lived happily ever after. The END"
6 - Her fish are named after real people in her life.
7 - Most of her sentences have 'my dear' in them when she's talking to us, or she pinches our cheeks or tickles us.
8 - She refers to most of her friends as 'my friend' until she sees them and remembers their name.
9 - LOVES birthday parties! (mostly cake)
9.5 - She finishes a lot of sentences with 'or somethin' : Mom, can I have pop ... or somethin'? ; I know! Let's play a game ... or somethin'. and other MUCH more hilarious sentences that I can't think of right now.
10 - Daddy's girl who likes to wear princess dresses, wear crowns and play Barbies, but will make jerky like it's nobody's business.

Corey :

1 - He would rather be late for work than leave without saying I Love you or hearing me say it. (99% of the time)
2 - If I ask for an iced capp and he says no, I can still count on him to bring me one.
3 - If he wants to go fishing/hunting he'll do dishes and sometimes ... he'll sweep.
4 - Will pout about something then move on - and I'll still be mad but it's hard to resist someone who ISN'T mad anymore. Grrrr.
5 - Can be easily bribed into rubbing my feet even if I owe him a bazillion massages. That's right, a bazillion.
6 - Likes looking at flyers for deals.
7 - Has really good, surprising ideas - sometimes. Other times all we can do is shake our heads.
8 - Loves birthdays
9 - Complains about playing Barbies with Amélie but some of the scenarios he creates with her are HILARIOUS.
10 - Will apologize - something that can truly be appreciated considering he sometimes blurts things out.

This isn't a TOP 10 or anything, just things that popped into my head over the past few days. Things to appreciate really.

New Years

NOTE : If you are my husband and you are reading this : You are getting your JUST REWARDS!!! (Okay that doesn't sound like the right saying but it's staying there until I can remember the real one).

I'm so glad we don't go back to work until next week. Like ... really, really glad. In fact I don't go back until next THURSDAY, pre-arranged because I had a lack of babysitter (Shrug) and am back to working just part-time anyways.

I reorganized the living room, moved my Scentsy over to be by my scrapbooking stuff and hope to con, bribe, beg, ask with cherries on top for my brother to come add shelves in various places in our house. I measured each closet/area I wanted shelves and am planning on drawing them up so that I know what I need and how much it'll cost.

I also plan on painting those damned cupboard doors. Did you know hinges are like 3$ EACH!! Sure that's fine if you need 3 ... but I need like 36!!! On the upside at least the cupboard doors will be one step closer to being back on the cupboards. I'll put them on NEXT year. One project a year.

New Year's .... I get just riled right up when I think about it. At first, I was excited - no kids, great babysitter :) Then ... I felt ... weird because there were OTHER kids there and so the conversations had to be PG rated. Well ... hello I left my kids at home for a reason!

Sidenote : I knew there was going to be other kids there from the getgo. I'm just saying it sucked not being able to have an adult conversation without little ears.

Then there were a LOT of strangers there. In fact, in hindsight, I only knew my sisters-in-law and one friend of the family. THAT'S IT! Awkward. On top of that my husband got drunk. SUPER, DUPER, acting humilating drunk. There is nothing worse than arguing, convincing, threatening  bribing a drunk that it's time to go home.

Sidenote : His sisters had him corralled in a room downstairs while I waited for about 30 +minutes for him upstairs. I have no idea what the conversation was about but ... who talks to a drunk person about anything even remotely important? When I asked Corey in the morning he was like ... I was in a room? Oh ... I think they were giving me heck for .... the champagne thing.
Champagne thing : I don't know why, but drunk Corey decided it would be SUPER AWESOME if he shook up a champagne bottle and sprayed his sister's basement ... oh and his sister. This was ALSO done while I was waiting for him upstairs. Although I desperately wanted to keep him upstairs and push him outside - his sister insisted he clean up his mess and although I agreed, I was on a time constraint. I made him go downstairs anyways.

Finally I went into the room they were possibly attempting this deep and meaningful conversation (they might have also been drunk I can't be certain, so this might explain why they all thought a conversation at this point would be good ... I'll have to verify. haha) and I grabbed my husband by the shirt and excused us we had to leave. I got him upstairs - oh and he was REALLY PISSY about it. I told him to watch his step and he fell outside. It was brilliant. Made me a little less livid.

When we finally got home, a silent trip because SOMEONE was half passed out, my poor sitter was going to be getting home an hour late. :/. She said NO big deal!!! Usually people don't even give her a time. I ABHOR being late. I forked over 60$ (despite me having said 40$ I felt SO BAD)

Sidenote : For those of you who think paying 60$ is normal or cheap, that's why I NEVER go out with my husband and leave my kids with a sitter. We live on a budget and 60$ was not part of my budget. I'm pretty sure any future times she babysits won't result in that much money (she seems really sweet and down to earth). I can't afford to pay a sitter more than 20$. Seriously.

Sidenote : Unfortunately, a side effect of being married to a Linfitt is that you run late. No. Really. I used to show up early for EVERYTHING but in the past few years ... I'm a little tardy most time. I hate it. Of course, it's ALWAYS awkward to be too early too.

Corey went to the bathroom and Will woke up. I ran to check on Will then, once I was sure he would be okay, I ran the sitter home. I knew Will would need more than a five second cuddle and when I got back he was pretty upset. :( Poor little guy. Our sitter had even offered to wait while I put him back down but I wanted to just come home and not be hurried with my little guy.

Corey was on his own. (I DID glance in when I got home - I don't deal well with puke and self-pitying moaning.)

I rocked Will back to sleep, after I changed into comfy clothes. Then I turned out lights, etc ... and then finally decided to check on Corey. He was lying on the floor in the bathroom so I turned off the light.

Oh. And I asked him if he wanted water then I told him we had no Tylenol. It wasn't a lie. We had advil. Just sayin'. I also thought about giving him a pillow and blanket ... but ... didn't.

Oh some of you are just annoyed that I didn't take care of my super drunk husband but let me tell you that he wasn't SUPPOSED to be drunk and he completely embarrassed me at this party. Super. Embarrassed.

THEN he slept most of the day away and was all lovey and wondering why I was so mad. 0_o.

Sigh. I always hear - well next time it's your turn. Do I look like an idiot? No. Really. Do I? I want to be able to get up with my kids. I have a lot of housework to do, more important things to do. We live in a super old, poorly built house that has more upkeep everyday! If I got that drunk NONE of it would be done while I was 'sleeping it off'. I'd be lucky if I got to sleep an hour without getting woken up by kids anyways.

I'm just sayin'.

So I'm a little sad and bummed out about that whole evening and I'll get over it and move on etcetera ... Sigh.

Sidenote : I DID play kaiser with a guy named Hoodle (or something) and he was as big as I am small so we made a very adorable pair. Haha. AND we did really well. Of course the more drunk Corey got the less he realized what he was doing. He even managed to play a couple hands without knowing trump.

Highlight of my New Year : I found a good babysitter for my kids.
