Favorite things ...

William :

1 - The way he counts un, deux, un, deux, six, quatre, un, deux (and looks at you to make sure you're paying attention)
2 - Instead of Thank You he says Bye-bye or Goodbye and waves and leaves the room with whatever he's gotten.
3 - When he's excited to get something he does this skipping thing.
4 - He only repeats what he wants to repeat.
5 - While rocking him to sleep he repeatedly points to my boob and says 'THERE IT IS!' like it's some long lost treasure.
6 - When someone is leaving he will happily wave bye bye and say so until they move towards the door then he hangs his head and fake cries making you feel like the WORST person ever. (Ask mom, she'll tell you all about it)
7 - Loves to dictate with his jibber jabber while pointing his finger.
8 - Will snuggle right up to us while sleeping in our bed. (I mean literally so there is no space)
9 - Loves to see Avery arriving and leaving (will rock her carseat as if to rock her to sleep)
10 - Is a mama's boy but is SO rough and tough.

Amélie :

1 - She has three personalities : Debba, Amélie and Debbie. They come out depending on if one of them has been sent to her room. It's like having triplets or something.
2 - When she is SUPER excited or happy she does this cute little clapping thing.
3 - Crackers are only for mushroom soup. That's it.
4 - She thinks that dance is super fun until there are other people watching her, then she wants to do her own routine and not a choreographed one and only if Matante Maddie dances with her.
5 - She starts ALL her stories with 'Once upon a dream ...' and her stories are very animated and detailed and end with '...they lived happily ever after. The END"
6 - Her fish are named after real people in her life.
7 - Most of her sentences have 'my dear' in them when she's talking to us, or she pinches our cheeks or tickles us.
8 - She refers to most of her friends as 'my friend' until she sees them and remembers their name.
9 - LOVES birthday parties! (mostly cake)
9.5 - She finishes a lot of sentences with 'or somethin' : Mom, can I have pop ... or somethin'? ; I know! Let's play a game ... or somethin'. and other MUCH more hilarious sentences that I can't think of right now.
10 - Daddy's girl who likes to wear princess dresses, wear crowns and play Barbies, but will make jerky like it's nobody's business.

Corey :

1 - He would rather be late for work than leave without saying I Love you or hearing me say it. (99% of the time)
2 - If I ask for an iced capp and he says no, I can still count on him to bring me one.
3 - If he wants to go fishing/hunting he'll do dishes and sometimes ... he'll sweep.
4 - Will pout about something then move on - and I'll still be mad but it's hard to resist someone who ISN'T mad anymore. Grrrr.
5 - Can be easily bribed into rubbing my feet even if I owe him a bazillion massages. That's right, a bazillion.
6 - Likes looking at flyers for deals.
7 - Has really good, surprising ideas - sometimes. Other times all we can do is shake our heads.
8 - Loves birthdays
9 - Complains about playing Barbies with Amélie but some of the scenarios he creates with her are HILARIOUS.
10 - Will apologize - something that can truly be appreciated considering he sometimes blurts things out.

This isn't a TOP 10 or anything, just things that popped into my head over the past few days. Things to appreciate really.

New Years

NOTE : If you are my husband and you are reading this : You are getting your JUST REWARDS!!! (Okay that doesn't sound like the right saying but it's staying there until I can remember the real one).

I'm so glad we don't go back to work until next week. Like ... really, really glad. In fact I don't go back until next THURSDAY, pre-arranged because I had a lack of babysitter (Shrug) and am back to working just part-time anyways.

I reorganized the living room, moved my Scentsy over to be by my scrapbooking stuff and hope to con, bribe, beg, ask with cherries on top for my brother to come add shelves in various places in our house. I measured each closet/area I wanted shelves and am planning on drawing them up so that I know what I need and how much it'll cost.

I also plan on painting those damned cupboard doors. Did you know hinges are like 3$ EACH!! Sure that's fine if you need 3 ... but I need like 36!!! On the upside at least the cupboard doors will be one step closer to being back on the cupboards. I'll put them on NEXT year. One project a year.

New Year's .... I get just riled right up when I think about it. At first, I was excited - no kids, great babysitter :) Then ... I felt ... weird because there were OTHER kids there and so the conversations had to be PG rated. Well ... hello I left my kids at home for a reason!

Sidenote : I knew there was going to be other kids there from the getgo. I'm just saying it sucked not being able to have an adult conversation without little ears.

Then there were a LOT of strangers there. In fact, in hindsight, I only knew my sisters-in-law and one friend of the family. THAT'S IT! Awkward. On top of that my husband got drunk. SUPER, DUPER, acting humilating drunk. There is nothing worse than arguing, convincing, threatening  bribing a drunk that it's time to go home.

Sidenote : His sisters had him corralled in a room downstairs while I waited for about 30 +minutes for him upstairs. I have no idea what the conversation was about but ... who talks to a drunk person about anything even remotely important? When I asked Corey in the morning he was like ... I was in a room? Oh ... I think they were giving me heck for .... the champagne thing.
Champagne thing : I don't know why, but drunk Corey decided it would be SUPER AWESOME if he shook up a champagne bottle and sprayed his sister's basement ... oh and his sister. This was ALSO done while I was waiting for him upstairs. Although I desperately wanted to keep him upstairs and push him outside - his sister insisted he clean up his mess and although I agreed, I was on a time constraint. I made him go downstairs anyways.

Finally I went into the room they were possibly attempting this deep and meaningful conversation (they might have also been drunk I can't be certain, so this might explain why they all thought a conversation at this point would be good ... I'll have to verify. haha) and I grabbed my husband by the shirt and excused us we had to leave. I got him upstairs - oh and he was REALLY PISSY about it. I told him to watch his step and he fell outside. It was brilliant. Made me a little less livid.

When we finally got home, a silent trip because SOMEONE was half passed out, my poor sitter was going to be getting home an hour late. :/. She said NO big deal!!! Usually people don't even give her a time. I ABHOR being late. I forked over 60$ (despite me having said 40$ I felt SO BAD)

Sidenote : For those of you who think paying 60$ is normal or cheap, that's why I NEVER go out with my husband and leave my kids with a sitter. We live on a budget and 60$ was not part of my budget. I'm pretty sure any future times she babysits won't result in that much money (she seems really sweet and down to earth). I can't afford to pay a sitter more than 20$. Seriously.

Sidenote : Unfortunately, a side effect of being married to a Linfitt is that you run late. No. Really. I used to show up early for EVERYTHING but in the past few years ... I'm a little tardy most time. I hate it. Of course, it's ALWAYS awkward to be too early too.

Corey went to the bathroom and Will woke up. I ran to check on Will then, once I was sure he would be okay, I ran the sitter home. I knew Will would need more than a five second cuddle and when I got back he was pretty upset. :( Poor little guy. Our sitter had even offered to wait while I put him back down but I wanted to just come home and not be hurried with my little guy.

Corey was on his own. (I DID glance in when I got home - I don't deal well with puke and self-pitying moaning.)

I rocked Will back to sleep, after I changed into comfy clothes. Then I turned out lights, etc ... and then finally decided to check on Corey. He was lying on the floor in the bathroom so I turned off the light.

Oh. And I asked him if he wanted water then I told him we had no Tylenol. It wasn't a lie. We had advil. Just sayin'. I also thought about giving him a pillow and blanket ... but ... didn't.

Oh some of you are just annoyed that I didn't take care of my super drunk husband but let me tell you that he wasn't SUPPOSED to be drunk and he completely embarrassed me at this party. Super. Embarrassed.

THEN he slept most of the day away and was all lovey and wondering why I was so mad. 0_o.

Sigh. I always hear - well next time it's your turn. Do I look like an idiot? No. Really. Do I? I want to be able to get up with my kids. I have a lot of housework to do, more important things to do. We live in a super old, poorly built house that has more upkeep everyday! If I got that drunk NONE of it would be done while I was 'sleeping it off'. I'd be lucky if I got to sleep an hour without getting woken up by kids anyways.

I'm just sayin'.

So I'm a little sad and bummed out about that whole evening and I'll get over it and move on etcetera ... Sigh.

Sidenote : I DID play kaiser with a guy named Hoodle (or something) and he was as big as I am small so we made a very adorable pair. Haha. AND we did really well. Of course the more drunk Corey got the less he realized what he was doing. He even managed to play a couple hands without knowing trump.

Highlight of my New Year : I found a good babysitter for my kids.
