Austin the Cat - etc ...

He's driving me crazy.

All I want to do is throw that cat outside as far as I can throw. He has food and water, but jumps on the counter to get into trouble, pulls down the garbage can and occasionally poops where he wants. He stays up all night playing with any small toy he can find, usually in William's room - driving me utterly insane. Spring better hurry up because this cat's life depends on it. The only thing keeping this cat alive ... is the fact that he LOVES Amélie. He follows her everywhere and wants to sleep right beside her at all times.

Scentsy :

I'm planning a Scentsy relaunch. In February I will be attending a big Spring Sprint and hope to have some great ideas. :)

27 weeks :

I have no idea how I got to be 27 weeks pregnant. Seriously, it's like I blinked and then here I am ... I think I might be rather big for how many weeks I am but it's like I'm petite with a huge belly and some wider hips ... it's weird ... 0_o.

Baby N :

Amélie loves this baby already. I hope it sticks. I'm not even a little bit worried about juggling three kids because I am secure and confident enough to say no to things I think will be too much. There is no reason to spread myself thin to please other people and I trust that they will consider that when I say no instead of flipping out. The people in our family and friends are pretty considerate.

Maternity Leave :

Holy Hannah I'm so looking forward to it. I like to take at least a month ahead of time to get the house ready, to spend time with kids, to be able to sleep on a schedule that my body wants instead of what work needs. I have some sick days as well so I am going to use some and be done in March. I have a day in mind but still juggling it around.

Spring :

Usually I don't get antsy about spring until February but, is it just me, or is winter extra long this year?

Scentsy Buddy Donations!

I've teamed up with a fellow consultant to try and get as many Scentsy Buddies as possible to donate to the Prince Albert Victoria Hospital's Pediatric Ward.

Anyone with kids, nieces, nephews, grandkids knows that a stay in the hospital for ANY amount of time is traumatizing for most kids, especially those who end up staying a wee bit longer than expected. Scentsy Buddies are stuffed animals with a little zippered pocket in the back where a scent pak can be inserted. The Buddy also comes with a code that unlocks an online world of playtime!!!

Check it out here : Scentsy Buddy Website!!

The Victoria Hospital IS a Scenty Free environment but we have plans to help if the Buddies can't have their paks. We will either substitute the paks for toys that will fit in the zippered pocket or ziplock the paks to try and contain the scent. We'll know more once we get a hold of the person in charge of donations - after the New Year. :)

Between January 1st 2012 and June 1st 2012 we will accept any donations towards a Buddy or you can purchase a buddy to be donated. Each Buddy will have a necklace with the donor(s) name on it so each family will know where their child's special pal came from.

We need YOUR help to ensure as many children as possible get to experience the joy a Scentsy Buddy has to offer!!

To donate or get more information about how to help you can contact myself, Corinne, at (306)-981-2064 or by email : corinnelinfitt@yahoo.ca or my partner - Caitlin at (306) 981-4486.
Stay tuned to see how well we do!! :)

EDIT : If you purchase/donate towards Sasha the Bear then you are actually helping TWO kids. One at the Victoria Hospital and Scentsy donates 100% of ALL proceeds from this bear to Ronald McDonald House Charities! This bear is a little more expensive and is only available until February 28th/2012.

Arbonne

My sister recently had an Arbonne party. This isn't the first Arbonne party I've been to. In fact, it's the second. This second one was about ... a lot better. I'm still skeptical.

The first time I bought Arbonne I bought the baby lotion - both my kids broke out in rashes. I didn't know how/what to do to return it. I suppose in hindsight I knew it could be returned but the consultant lived FAR away and I didn't think it would be worth the hassle. :/ Hence - it is best to support local and family when it comes to these things.

That being said, my cousin and my cousin's wife ... er ... the first cousin's sister-in-law both sell Arbonne also. So does my step-sister (ish) in-law. I feel like everyone is selling Arbonne.

Anyways - I hate pushy sales people.

Onward, so I understand believing in your product but I get really irritated when I say - my kids had a reaction and people are just bewildered about it. Obviously I must be lying. I'm not. They broke out in insane rashes. Perhaps they are allergic to the fruit inside I don't know. Whatever. I'm just stating my kids were allergic or didn't react well to the baby lotion. That is all.

I had also bought the cooling foot creme that I hardly use ... ever. But when I did use it ... it did work.

So this time I bought the shampoo/conditioner to try it on my gross, dandruffy hair. Head and Shoulders is only pissing me off. Trust me,  ya'll will know if it works because I'll be super excited that it worked!!

I am intrigued in the big RE9 set but I don't have 400$ nor the patience to wash my face that many times or do that many things to my face. Seriously, I only wash my face if I put makeup on or if I smeared food. Grossed out? Don't be, by washing your face you are stripping it of the many good things on your face. Or something much fancier. Ask the Arbonne consultant - although ... I don't think she'd suggest not washing your face.

Wait. I guess I kind of do rinse it in the shower ...

........ I should shave my legs .....

Preaching to me about how healthy Arbonne is doesn't work for one reason - everyone says it about everything - except perhaps aspartane ... and drugs ... but people on drugs think it's all fine. Although I am turned off my putting baby oil or mineral oil on anything because it's gross. It is. That is a fact. Fresh, clean ... that's nice. So we'll see what the shampoo does and I can't WAIT to try it.

I also sampled a chew that is supposed to kind of help cravings (okay seriously I would be the worst consultant in the universe for this stuff because I can't remember half the things she said) after chewing three seconds I didn't want it anymore. I was full lol. But ... it didn't really stop me from snacking ... I think the cheese dip was just that awesome!!!!! GO EPICURE DIP!!!

OMG I want more of that cheese dip. GAYLE you should bring it to Lynne's on Wednesday!!! Do it. Oh ... but it might not be good anymore. That makes me sad.

Sigh. What else.

I really dislike pushy consultants.

Gayle's consultant wasn't pushy by the way. Well ... no she wasn't. She even gave Amélie the polka dotted bag. and put up with TWO kids just yelling and spilling water all over the place. It was interesting lol.

I should do some work or something.

I don't really want to ...

What could I do?

I  hope my boss never, EVER finds my blog. I'm so serious lol.

If he's reading this. I just dated this to be posted while I'm at work to fool you. FYI. Just sayin'.

Many Things

- My bread is heavy. I realize that might not make sense to many of you but it's heavy. Kneading too much? Not letting it rise long enough? Luckily, my aunt said she'd show me the trick!

- I currently have so many Scentsy bars in stock that when I have to decide what scent to put in I just go with Rootbeer float. I should have gotten more rootbeer float.

- I'm SO SO Excited for the new catalogue/fall/winter scents to come out. Just two more sleeps!! EEEEE.

- My cinnamon buns ... I tried a new recipe. Lame. I think I'll stick with the recipe that Dot gave me. I like those ones. YUM! I was going to make some today but ran out of flour and I need a trick to get the 'sauce' on the bottom to stop collecting.

- William has been waking up earlier and earlier. I am actually not pleased by this, despite his earlier bedtime. He also headbutted my head while nursing the other morning. GAH.

- Amélie hates wearing clothes. HATES it. As soon as she knows that mémère or one of her matantes are here though she races to get panties on.

- She and Will LUV their Mononcle Devon. Okay actually they basically adore all their aunts, uncles, relatives and anyone that comes over.

- Amélie's fish are still gross when the filter isn't changed and I hate having to remember to feed them but recently Amélie's 'Aladdin' (her betta) died so she got a new one and he's blue. So, blue.

- I go back to work soon and I need the money but not looking forward to it. Sigh. Once I get into a routine it'll be fine I suppose.

- Amélie decided she didn't want to wear diapers after her 3rd birthday so she stopped wearing them even at night. I'm impressed ... except now I have all these girlie pull-ups.

- I seriously need to put up my cupboard doors.

- August is 10% off month for Scentsy.

- Corey is so cute when he's nerdy.

- Going to the movie theater sucks. It's expensive, the popcorn is stale and gross, it's expensive, too loud, people bring their SUPER whiny kids to adult movies, omg it's also so expensive.

I may add to this list later. Most likely I won't though.

Lemon Lavender

I mourned the loss of Spiced Grapefruit in the Scentsy scent bar department. I was truly sad (insert extremely depressing looking face here).

Recently they had this event called Bring back my bar!! I voted like a crazy lady for Spiced Grapefruit (and bubblegum and rootbeer float).

Something hilarious I just realized : For the past month (at least) I've been spelling rootbeer ... like this rootbear. Ha.

Spiced Grapefruit didn't win, nor did bubblegum, but rootbeer float did. Yay!

This post isn't about rootbeer float.

It's about lemon lavender. I cleaned my house and was tired of vanilla cream (Corey's #1 pick) and I decided to try lemon lavender. OMG! I wish I could have called my mom and invited her to my house! It's even BETTER than spiced grapefruit. It smells like I freakin' did spring AND summer cleaning. So. Amazing. And without the devastating side effect of toxic fumes from cleaning chemicals. Super bonus.

Sidenote : I did clean my house but still ... I used a swiffer to wash  my floors. It sure don't smell like lemon and lavender.

Salt & Vinegar chips

Tip : NEVER scratch your eye while eating salt & vinegar chips .... EVER.

That being said, my eye will undoubtedly recover and so will yours if you forget this tip.

I'm not actually sure why I like these stupid chips either. They make my hands greasy, I can't touch anything for fear of setting fire on some small wound I didn't even know existed, they burn my lips and after a while my tongue feels funny.

Same with ketchup chips, except instead of setting fire to wounds, they just stain everything red.

I don't even like chips.

.....

Did I mention that eating chips is addicting? As is popcorn with butter ... speaking of popcorn with butter ....

I had a date night last month. We went on cheap night and I was BEWILDERED by how expensive cheap night was. THEN ... I was pissed that there were kids in our theater (totally not a kids movie in any way, shape or form), THEN ... I got irritated that my popcorn tasted LAME and I was sure the butter was non-fat or some diet butter or worse ... FAKE .... butter. THEN it was too loud. I'm only 28 years old, but that night ... I felt REALLY old. Like ... 30. 0_0. .... speaking of 30

Corey thinks he's super old. He's only going to be 30 next month, like what is his deal? He's already complaining of aches and pains that people much older than him just started complaining about. Is it a guy thing? He's always so 'tired'. Take a vitamin B dude ... anyways ....

I wish the playstation network wasn't still down. I'm really sad about that.

I have the scent 'Sugar' in my Scentsy warmer and it is making me want cotton candy. Speaking of Scentsy scents ... Amelie has a fish tank and it stinks and I hate fish tanks. I like the fish IN the fish tank, but ... speaking of the fish in Amelie's fish tank, she has 13 fish. They are getting pretty big, well the Angel fish anyways. Actually, the angel fish scare me a little bit because they are always eyeing me through the tank. Back to the scentsy ... I put our plug-in warmer in her room and it now smells like Ocean, which I thought was appropriate and MUCH better than gross fish tank.

Also, speaking of Scentsy ... I'm always over-explaining the warmers .. you know there's the Full-size warmer, the medium-size one and the plug-in. They are ALL plug-in, but the 'Plug-in' warmer sits up into the plug in ... see how confusing that is? The warmers (full-mid) come with cords. I think that makes more sense. Now that THAT is sorted ...

Why can't I watch Game of Thrones on my PS3? Does anyone know how to watch tv episodes on the PS3? Like from online? Is that possible?

I. hate. these. chips.

How I missed you dear Heroes

Finally!!! Netflix got Heroes working again so I can finish watching Season 4. I was literally freaking out. AND on top of that the Star Trek book I've been wanting to read since January 22nd came out for my KOBO (I already finished reading it) I was ultimately disappointed. :( Speaking of books, I'm SUPER pumped that the George RR Martin series - Game of Thrones is not only going to be a HBO series on TV! BUT he has a new book coming out!! .... in 2012. 8/.

Okay. Not the end of the world, and in fact positive thinking makes me happy for all those things to be happening/have happened.

AND I'm super happy that Scentsy is going so well. I just LOVE it. Alright, I also enjoy making spreadsheets, crunching numbers, color coding my agenda, putting sticky notes in my agenda and saying things like 'oh I'll just write it off', even though I have no idea if I will be able to write something off.

Work is going well, busy as always, going for my first massage on Monday, have two basket parties going out over Easter weekend ....

All this good stuff makes me super nervous. Why you ask? Because ... I don't know how to just be happy, really, truly happy about good things happening. I always expect 'the other shoe' to fall. Maybe my kids will get super sick, or an accident or ... other horrible things. Even though, those are things I can't actually control ... or predict ... it puts a dirty cloud over my sunshine.

It's so hard to cover all the corners, get all the bases ... or whatever that saying is.

Random note : I need to buy more ink.

I've also been majorly slacking in my 101 in 1001 days ... yeesh. Time to revisit that soon. Maybe do a start over, reorganize my goals.

Anyways, that's my blog post for the morning ... my bad ... afternoon.

Work

Back to work.

It wasn't that bad. Actually, my boss was very cool and easy going about my immediate need for extreme flexibility. In return I work very hard when I'm there and am getting a lot done.

And, of course, being my mother's daughter and not being able to only have one job, I saw an opportunity and jumped at it. I applied for a short term job with Census Canada. Going back part-time is cutting into my funds and I won't be able to collect EI so I needed to supplement.

So far, Will has been great. The first day was a little tough but I was only gone for about 6 hours total. Now I pump after lunch and have been getting less and less every time so my body is adjusting. Will still nurses in the morning and all night.

In other fun things, I've been doing great with Scentsy. I'm SO enjoying it!! So far a lot of basket parties, only one home party, but the basket parties are neat too :) They involve someone taking my supplies and visiting their friends. It is less work for me, but then I don't get to practice giving my little spiel haha. Alright, I'll admit, it's still fun!! I'm looking forward to doing more parties basket AND home parties that is.

What else is there to catch up on? I need to get my hair dyed again. Badly. Yuck. Haha. When people notice my grey hairs (and I'm only 28 yrs old) I think it's safe to say it's time to start dying my hair regularly Bahahaha!

Oh yes, and one more thing, we will be having a big Linfitt Birthday bash on May 7th. Since Will's 1st birthday is May 2nd, Amélie's birthday is May 5th and mine is May 9th (my official 28th birthday) and mother's day is in the middle, we will just have on party.
That's all for now!!

Fish

Corey bought Amelie some fish.

There were some guidelines of course, he had to use his poker money because I (being incredibly smart and knowing that Amelie is WAY too young for fish) want nothing to do with the fish and I object to having another animal to take care of.

So, on Tuesday, Corey and Amélie had a daddy/daughter date and went and got supplies, just a couple things since we already had the tank and lid, and some fish. Now ... the absolute excitement and pride in Amélie's little eyes was really hard to ignore. She immediately pulled the bags that contained her fish out of the bag holding them all together, sifted through until she found 'HER' fish and held it up to my eyes (literally right up to my eyes).

Interesting fact : I'm not blind.

She announced that this was 'HER fish'. It is a pinkish betta with tons of attitude. Spends most of his time fighting his reflection. Seriously the slightest amount of light makes a reflection and he goes coocoo. Also among the 'lucky' fish were two angel fish, 3 tetra somethings and my staple ... the tank cleaner dude. His name is tank cleaner dude.

Now, Amélie and Corey spent an hour getting it all set up with fresh water, getting it the right temperature, getting the fish used to the water ... blah, blah, blah. Then Amélie spent the next hour watching them float in their bags while Corey plowed the yard (to try to prevent a swimming pool in the basement).

Then they were free in the tank. Thus began the great ... Amélie vs the fish. She's already put various items in the tank, accidentally dropped the lid (including the part with the lights) and there are fingerprints everywhere.

But ... she sleeps on the side of her bed closest to the tank.
She curls up with her Scentsy Frog on the very foot of her bed, laying not lengthwise but widthwise the way only a 'little girl' can do and pulls her covers tight and watches those fish swim around.

Tomorrow I'll yell at her again for sticking Barbie and Ken into 'shark infested waters'. I'll relocate whatever she's using as a stool to reach the top of her dresser. But ... sigh ... at least she's enthusiastic about them. Very enthusiastic.

Seriously though ... I'm not cleaning that stupid fish tank.

Screening emails? Customer Service? Netflix?

I think my emails are being screened.

Oh you laugh now, but I think it's happening. Okay, it's hard to screen emails because the curiosity gets to most people, but it happens.

I was having this amazing conversation through email about education and the educational system and it abruptly ended. It's been a while now and I'm not sure if I should be all 'Heeeeyyyy .... what's up?', or just consider the conversation done because obviously, I have offended that person in a way that they can not email talk with me ... ever ... again.

I was also having this other amazing conversation where I went all off topic for a minute, but then apologized and have been since waiting for a reply. In fact, I sent another email not that long ago about something completely unrelated and totally cool ... still no response.

Of course, the first thing we think of is 'oh they just haven't read it yet', but when you see that person on facebook, it's only fair to assume they read the messages. I know they know how because we were talking before.... so ... what to do?

Calling the first person is out of the question, don't know each other that well. That doesn't make the ignoring of the inbox message any better ... just saying. Especially since this person is starting to come off as a self-righteous 'Never does anything wrong' type person? WHOA. I know that's not completely fair, is it? But it's the truth. That's the vibe I'm getting. This person is probably NOT like that. I'm pretty positive this person is not, just so you know. I won't even go into the vibes I give off through my emails ;)

The 2nd one might warrant a phone call. We'll see.

That's my thing. I love when people reply immediately or as soon as they can. It's like customer service ....

Speaking of customer service .... I recently downgraded our Shaw Direct package. Customer service was amazing. Seriously, it wouldn't hurt my feelings to be down to .... TSN and CNN, but Corey wanted a few others. I haven't watched 'TV' since we got Netflix.

I love Netflix.

I can watch a whole TV series without commercials ... it's awesome.

Sidenote : Heroes gives me nightmares and I wish I had a cool super power. I also can't stop watching. I suspect they added caffeine into their tv show.

That is all for now. You have been informed of my paranoia that everyone is out to ignore my email messages. I should watch less Heroes. Probably won't happen.

Double sidenote : I'm really excited for my Launch Party at Jacqueline's house!! Trying to decide what to do a draw for, some cool prizes and samples. EEEEEEEE.

Netflix my Hero

Recently, we got Netflix. I suppose before that ... we finally bought a PS3 and THEN we got Netflix. It was one of the first things Corey wanted to get set-up actually. At first, I thought, meh ... just some dumb ol' tv shows/movies. But then ...

We were able to watch Blue's Clues on a pretty much never ending cycle. And when the kids got tired of that, it was Diego ... or Dora ...or some show called Horseland where all the horses have streaked manes and tails.

More importantly though ... I stumbled upon a show called HEROES (Don't give me ANY SPOILERS OR ELSE HORRIBLE things will happen to you. That's how Karma works.) I'd only heard about it, but I settled in to watch the first episode. I couldn't stop. It was unstoppable (not really, just a matter of turning it off of course.) I had nightmares. Horrible, unrealistic nightmares. Involving Spock (YOU KNOW WHY!) and Sulu (I love Star Trek).

In case you don't know : Spock (From the new movie Star Trek) and Sulu (from the old TV show Star Trek) are both on the show Heroes.

I'm actually moved on to season 2, with a few less nightmares ... right up until ANOTHER crazy bunch of dramatic things happened. I don't know how I will ever sleep during Corey's nightshifts. I probably won't ... I'll watch Heroes. Or  Blue's Clues. Or ... Horseland. I actually think I saw Babysitter's Club there somewhere ....

Interesting fact : Netflix is amazing. I also cut down our satellite bill by 40$/month.

Interesting fact 2 : My new coconut lemongrass Scentsy bar is seriously making me crave a pina colada - I don't even know what a Pina Colada is!

Scentsy Consultant?

Okay, I literally debated this for such a long while, and then finally decided to take the 'plunge'. Now that I have, I'm really excited! It's a product I'm really into and enjoy and it'll bring in a little tiny bit of income. :)

I've already got my own Scentsy Webpage : Corinne's Scentsy Page

I'd like to also thank everyone for coming to my Scentsy party! It was a lot of fun and I hope you all enjoyed the product! I'm hoping there's someone out there who will be cool enough to host my launch party ... any takers? I've ordered 1 of everything (I think) which means I'll be able to demonstrate everything! I'm looking forward to this new idea :)

Either leave a comment or email me : corinnelinfitt@yahoo.ca if you want more info.

Okay, now that the boring 'presentation' is done I can tell you how I really feel.

omgi'msoexcitedireallylovethisstuff!

AH! Seriously. I can't wait to get my new scents and warmers! I know my party goers are looking forward to it too! I got a LOT of scents and hope to get more soon. If anyone wants to be on my mailing list just email me, I'm hoping to always have some samples of some of the scents. I can let you know what I have and you can let me know if you want to try it out :) Super. Excited.

Phew! Also a bit nervous, these kinds of 'jobs' aren't always the best, but I'm not really in it to make money so I suppose that's good for me :)

I would really love to have a party in the next two weeks, but it kind of depends when my supplies get here ... I guess we'll see :) Let me know! I'd love to have a party with you!

Scentsy

I'm going to have a Scentsy party.

I'm REALLY EXCITED!!

Usually, someone has a party and I'm all like ...woohoo. yay. go party. (not excited)

But then while stalking catching up with some peoples' facebook pages I seen that a step-relative (through marriage) became a Scentsy consultant. I, being the type of person who likes to be in everyone's business informed and see if I can support in some way, googled it. I was very, very interested.

Then my friend (not the imaginary one, but she could be because she lives far away) was having a Discovery Toy party/Scentsy party, and I wanted to support her so I did. I also got one for my mother-in-law for Christmas. She LOVES it!! I love mine too! It took me forever to decide which scents/warmers to get. Seriously, one of the biggest decision I've ever made.

Corey hates it because it makes the house smell like sugar cookies and makes him STARVING. (That means he actually likes it) I had gotten a citrusy scent as well and it made my house smell so clean, even though it WASN'T. I totally tricked my mom!!!

Mom : Wow, it smells clean in here
Me : I know! Look at how clean it is.
Mom : I don't even notice that pile of dishes, couch full of laundry, crumbs on the floor, cobwebs in the doorways ...
Me : What are you talking about?
Mom : I don't know ... I don't see anything. My nose is having a little smell party. It's so awesome. I want some. It's so clean! It's like magic!

Interesting Fact : She doesn't have any yet, but I'm sure she will get some at my party.
Interesting Fact 2 : I wanted this to be my status but ran out of room.

You should come to my party!! I might have a basket party so I can come to you if you can't come to me :) Also, if you have a Scentsy party after I have my Scentsy party, I will definitely come to your Scentsy party because I won't be able to decide what scents to get and will have a perfect excuse to buy them at your party. Or if you have a Discovery Toy party, or possibly an Epicure party because we run out of Corey's dip really fast around here. Or if you just have a party party, I might come to that. Is there such a thing as a book party? I would SO be there.

Corey wishes there were hunting parties.

Corey : I wish there were hunting parties
Me : ... you have hunting parties all through hunting season
Corey : (sad) Not with food and drinks and show and tell ...
Me : (sad for him) Maybe ... you can MAKE A hunting party.
Corey : (getting excited) Maybe I can!!!
Me : At the same time as my Scentsy party!!!
Corey : (less excited) yay.
Me :
How can you have a hunting party though?
Corey : (sad again) I don't know ...
Me : (patting his sad back) I'll google it. (moment of silence) OR you can have a man Scentsy party!

Interesting Fact : Corey didn't think a man Scentsy party would go over well ....
